Ciena Reorganizes Product and Technology Leadership

Ciena appointed Grant Hoffman as Chief Supply Chain Officer and elevated Brodie Gage to Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO), strengthening its executive leadership team as demand for AI-driven networking infrastructure continues to expand. Both executives report directly to President and CEO Gary Smith and serve on the company’s Executive Leadership Team.

Hoffman joins Ciena with more than 25 years of experience in global supply chain management, operations, and portfolio leadership. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer at Poly before joining HP following its acquisition of the company. At HP, Hoffman held the role of Senior Vice President of Operations and Solutions Delivery, overseeing global customer delivery, support, channel operations, and supply chain functions. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at Google, Motorola, and Continental AG. Ciena said his appointment will support the company’s efforts to scale operations and strengthen delivery capabilities as network infrastructure demand accelerates.

Gage assumes an expanded role that combines product leadership and technology strategy under a single organization. As Chief Product and Technology Officer, he will continue overseeing Product Line Management, Solutions Engineering and Introduction (SE&I), and Quality, while working closely with Ciena’s global research and development organization to advance the company’s technology roadmap. Gage joined Ciena through its acquisition of Nortel’s optical networking business in 2010 and has held leadership positions spanning engineering, marketing, business development, and product management.
