Constellation Energy Corporation and CyrusOne expanded their Texas data center power partnership with a new agreement supporting a large-scale facility adjacent to the Freestone Energy Center. Under the deal, Calpine LLC will provide 380 MW of power, grid connectivity, and site infrastructure for CyrusOne’s new development in Freestone County, roughly 80 miles (129 km) southeast of Dallas.
The agreement also includes an exclusive option for a second 380 MW phase at the same site. Combined with a previously announced 400 MW arrangement at the Thad Hill Energy Center in Bosque County, CyrusOne now has more than 1,100 MW of contracted power capacity tied to Constellation-owned generation assets in Texas. The structure is designed to support rapid data center deployment while maintaining grid reliability for other regional customers.
Constellation said the project leverages its “Powered Land Capabilities,” which pair generation, land, and grid access to support large-load customers such as hyperscale and AI-driven data centers. CyrusOne said the partnership strengthens its ability to meet growing customer demand in Texas while ensuring reliable power delivery for surrounding communities.
