Intel named Alex Katouzian as executive vice president and general manager of its Client Computing and Physical AI Group. Katouzian joins from Qualcomm Technologies, where he led mobile, compute, and XR businesses. At Intel, he will oversee the company’s core PC franchise while expanding its scope to include “physical AI” systems spanning robotics, autonomous machines, and edge-based AI devices. The move aligns Intel’s client roadmap with broader trends in distributed AI inference and intelligent endpoints.
Intel also appointed Pushkar Ranade as chief technology officer, transitioning from the interim role. Ranade will lead the company’s long-term technology strategy, including initiatives in quantum computing, neuromorphic architectures, silicon photonics, and advanced materials. He will continue to serve as chief of staff to CEO Lip-Bu Tan, maintaining coordination between research programs and business priorities.
Both executives will report directly to Tan as Intel continues to integrate AI capabilities across its product portfolio—from AI PCs to edge inference platforms and future autonomous systems.
