Federated Wireless announced that it has achieved an Authority to Operate (ATO) for a private 5G network deployed at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia, marking the first fully private 5G network authorized to operate within the Department of War environment. The deployment, part of the Marine Corps’ 5G Private Infrastructure Network (5G PIN) program, establishes a validated architecture for mission-critical wireless infrastructure supporting logistics and industrial operations.
Federated Wireless served as prime contractor and network architect, leading design, integration, deployment, and cybersecurity compliance in partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprise and JMA Wireless. The ATO confirms that the network meets stringent performance, reliability, and cybersecurity requirements aligned with U.S. Marine Corps Risk Management Framework (RMF) standards, enabling it to operate as a trusted platform for operational workloads.
The 5G PIN delivers deterministic, low-latency wireless connectivity to support advanced logistics use cases, including automated storage systems, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and AI-driven applications. The system enables real-time inventory visibility, predictive maintenance, and data-driven decision-making, while meeting strict requirements around data locality, network boundaries, and continuous monitoring. The deployment is positioned as a repeatable blueprint for future secure 5G rollouts across defense and federal infrastructure.
