NTT DATA Expands Google Cloud Partnership

NTT DATA and Google Cloud announced an expanded strategic collaboration aimed at helping enterprises move beyond AI pilot projects and deploy agentic AI solutions at production scale. The initiative combines Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise platform with NTT DATA’s consulting, implementation, managed services, and industry expertise to accelerate enterprise AI adoption across banking, insurance, manufacturing, retail, and corporate operations.

As part of the agreement, NTT DATA will establish a dedicated Gemini Enterprise practice and plans to certify 5,000 Gemini Enterprise specialists globally. The companies also outlined plans to co-develop and deploy up to 500 AI agents spanning industry-specific and horizontal business functions. The goal is to create reusable AI building blocks that enterprises can deploy more rapidly while maintaining governance, security, compliance, and operational controls.

The partnership introduces a global “factory model” for AI agent development that combines reusable assets, engineering talent, and co-innovation programs. NTT DATA and Google Cloud will deploy joint engineering teams, including forward-deployed engineers embedded with customers, to accelerate implementation and address technical challenges in real time. The collaboration also emphasizes sovereign AI deployments, leveraging NTT DATA’s global data center footprint and managed services capabilities alongside Google Cloud infrastructure.

  • NTT DATA will establish a dedicated Gemini Enterprise practice.
  • Target of 5,000 Gemini Enterprise-certified experts globally.
  • Joint roadmap to develop and deploy up to 500 AI agents.
  • Focus on banking, insurance, manufacturing, retail, IT operations, software development, marketing, procurement, and finance.
  • Introduction of a global AI agent factory model for repeatable deployments.
  • Support for sovereign AI deployments and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Joint engineering teams will work directly with enterprise customers.
  • Emphasis on moving enterprises from experimentation to production-scale AI adoption.

“Enterprises need a practical way to scale AI adoption, strengthen governance, enable their workforce and create measurable business value,” said Abhijit Dubey, CEO and Chief AI Officer of NTT DATA. “This expanded partnership with Google Cloud and NTT DATA is helping clients move beyond pilots and embed AI into the way their organizations operate, creating a faster and lower-risk path to enterprise-wide transformation.”

🌐 Analysis: The announcement reflects a broader shift in the enterprise AI market from model experimentation toward operational deployment. While many enterprises have tested generative AI tools over the past two years, large-scale implementation remains limited by governance, integration, workforce readiness, and infrastructure challenges. Service providers such as NTT DATA, Accenture, Deloitte, Capgemini, and Infosys increasingly position themselves as AI deployment partners rather than traditional systems integrators.

🌐 Analysis: NTT DATA has steadily expanded its AI relationship with Google Cloud through cloud modernization, data analytics, and generative AI initiatives. The new Gemini Enterprise practice mirrors similar investments by major global consultancies building dedicated practices around Google’s Gemini platform, Microsoft’s Copilot ecosystem, and OpenAI technologies. The commitment to develop up to 500 AI agents highlights growing industry demand for specialized domain agents that automate business workflows rather than standalone chat-based assistants.
