Private Wireless: Market Survey Unveils Enterprise Criteria for Private 5G

Why are enterprises considering a private cellular network? Is it because of specific application requirements or better coverage?

Steve Douglas, Head of Market Strategy from Spirent, provides some answers based on a comprehensive survey conducted with over 200 enterprises. Here are the key takeaways from the report:

– The top two business values that enterprises are looking to achieve with private networks are increased security and network reliability. These factors are seen as the foundation for enabling future use cases and driving business outcomes.

– There is a significant demand for Service Level Agreement (SLA) management. Enterprises are willing to pay for guaranteed SLAs from the network, which is crucial for delivering on business outcomes such as reducing downtime and increasing operational efficiency.

– Enterprises are seeking to reduce operational costs and favor automation as part of the offered solution for private networks. The complexity of their environments and lack of in-house technical capabilities make them prefer managed service solutions and Opex consumption models.
