Sabey Corporation and National Real Estate Advisors added Ares Secondaries funds as a minority equity investor in Sabey Data Center Properties (SDCP), expanding the institutional ownership base behind the privately held U.S. data center platform. The companies did not disclose the size or financial terms of the investment.
SDCP operates six energized data center campuses with approximately 251 MW of operating capacity, including 76 MW of built powered shell capacity, as of March 31, 2026. The portfolio includes more than four million square feet of mission-critical space, and SDCP said its existing land holdings provide an opportunity to triple current capacity by 2036.
Sabey and National will continue to jointly own and govern SDCP following the transaction. The addition of Ares provides the platform with another institutional capital partner as SDCP develops capacity across existing campuses and evaluates opportunities in additional U.S. data center markets. Ares said the operating portfolio serves a broad tenant base consisting predominantly of investment-grade enterprises and hyperscalers.

“Welcoming Ares as an investor is a strong endorsement of SDCP’s platform, our team and the long-term demand we’re seeing for scaled data center infrastructure. With Sabey, National and now Ares aligned behind the business, we are well positioned to execute our disciplined growth plan and deliver the mission-critical capacity our customers need,” said Tim Mirick, President of SDCP.
🌐 Analysis: The investment adds Sabey Data Center Properties to the growing group of privately held data center operators attracting institutional capital as AI and cloud infrastructure requirements increase demand for powered land and development pipelines. SDCP’s ability to potentially expand capacity on existing land holdings provides a path to growth that may reduce some of the land acquisition and site-selection requirements facing new data center developments.
