Vantage Data Centers is making a major move into the Midwest with plans to build a massive data center campus near Columbus, Ohio, aiming to meet the soaring demand for scalable and sustainable digital infrastructure in the region. The project represents an investment of over $2 billion and is set to generate more than 1,500 jobs during its construction and long-term operations. Located in New Albany, just outside Columbus, the OH1 campus will span 70 acres and deliver a robust 192MW of IT capacity across more than 1.5 million square feet. As Vantage’s first venture into the Midwest and its seventh North American market, the campus is poised to become a critical hub for cloud computing and AI technologies. The first building is scheduled to open by late 2025, and the entire campus will be built following Vantage’s “sustainable by design” approach, targeting LEED Silver certification to ensure energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.
