Your privacy is very important to us and we don’t ask you for personal information unless we truly need it and we don’t store personal information on our WordPress server unless required for the on-going operation of our site.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Converge Digest collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Converge Digest’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Converge Digest’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Converge Digest may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

Converge Digest also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on our blogs.

Personally-Identifying Information

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

For those who wish to subscribe to our paid subscription email service, including corporate site-license subscriptions or free trial subscriptions, our delivery is provided via MailChimp, which handles subscribe and unsubscribe requests. In doing so, certain data such as email and IP addresses and time/data information may be collected for processing your request and confirming the changes.

Aggregated Statistics

Converge Digest may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. For instance, Converge Digest may monitor the most popular pages on the site or use spam screened by the Akismet service to help identify spam. Converge Digest may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Converge Digest does not disclose personally-identifying information.

Cookies

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. Converge Digest uses cookies to help Converge Digest identify and track visitors, their usage of Converge Digest website, and their website access preferences. Converge Digest visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using Converge Digest’s websites, with the drawback that certain features of Converge Digest’s websites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

Ads

Ads appearing on any of our websites may be delivered to users by advertising partners, including Google Ads,who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement to compile information about you or others who use your computer. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies by Converge Digest and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. Likewise, many of the articles posted on this site include links to the primary source of coverage. This is provided for your convenience and for accuracy in determining the original source of content, such as press release, investor disclosures, government announcements, etc. Clicking on the link will take you to the third-party website, which will have its own privacy policies.

Who we share your data with

How long we retain your data

Suggested text: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Comments

Comments and other content submitted to Akismet anti-spam service are not saved on our servers unless they were marked as false positives, in which case we store them long enough to use them to improve the service to avoid future false positives.

Converge Digest encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
