BSkyB (Sky), the UK’s leading home entertainment and communications company, has deployed a 100G optical transmission network to support its broadband and video services.
Alcatel-Lucent has provided Sky with its 100G next generation optical coherent technology, including its 1626 Light Manager, enhanced with 100G next-generation coherent technology through the 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS). Financial terms were not disclosed.
