Twitter has acquired Whisper Systems, a start-up specializing in security for Android. Financial terms were not disclosed. Whisper is based in the San Francisco area.
Whisper integrates with the underlying Android OS to protect everything on the phone. The company’s initial beta promises full disk encryption, network security tools, encrypted backup, selective permissions, etc.
