Joyent Secures $15 Million for Platform-as-a-Service Technology

Joyent, a start-up based in San Francisco, secured $15 million in Series C funding to expand international operations and build momentum in the marketplace for the company’s core platform-as-a-service cloud computing technologies. Joyent’s focus is to offer a “complete technology stack that delivers true cloud computing for public, private, and hybrid clouds.” The company says its smart technology is able to tap into underutilized resources (RAM, CPU, Network) to provide best-in-class application performance.

The round was led by Series B investor Intel Capital, with additional support from existing investor Greycroft Partners and new investor Liberty Global.
