SK Broadband, has boosted its network capacity with a 40G optical solution from LG-Nortel, the joint venture between LG Electronics and Nortel. The installation allows SK Broadband to quadruple the capacity of its current 10G network simply by swapping its existing fiber-optic interface cards with new cards. SK Broadband now has 3.52 Tbps of bandwidth (88 x 40G wavelengths) using Nortel’s 40G/100G Adaptive Optical Engine. The Nortel gear offers a nonregenerated reach greater than 2000 km and provides an upgrade path to future 100G speeds. http://www.nortel.com
