Finland's Funet Upgrades Optical Network with NSN

The Finnish university and research network (Funet), which is operated by the Finnish IT center for science (CSC), is undergoing a major optical upgrade that will delivers connections to up 0 Gbps to the Finnish research community. The Funet network will also provide its users with high-quality connections to the international research network infrastructure, such as NORDUnet, the Nordic research network, and the European GÉANT research network.

Nokia Siemens Networks will provide the optical transmission network and routers based on DWDM for the project. The largest optical fiber suppliers are TDC and Teknomeria.
