Motorola Launches Bluetooth Enabled Sunglasses

A A

Motorola is teaming up with Oakley, a provider of premium sunglasses and apparel, to launch “RAZRWIRE” Bluetooth-enabled sunglasses. Cingular Wireless expects to be the first carrier to offer RAZRWIRE.

RAZRWIRE is armed with Motorola’s third generation Bluetooth technology and supports Bluetooth RF protocol 1.1 and 1.2 for compatibility with most Bluetooth-enabled cellular phones and other Bluetooth devices. The controls include two volume buttons and a single button used to handle incoming and outgoing calls. The module uses a wall charger or a USB port using an optional cable.

Bluetooth Sniff Mode technology increases the battery life, offering continuous talk time of more than five hours and standby time of up to approximately 100 hours.

Availability is expected in early August at a price of $294.99.http://oakley.motorola.com
