Canoga Perkins introduced an Ethernet Termination Service Unit (ETSU) for the telco service provider and cable MSO markets. The device enables the hand-off of services and media conversation between a service provider’s network using single-mode fiber optic cable and the customer’s network using UTP copper cable and fiber interfaces. The unit, which is compliant with Ethernet IEEE 802.3, Fast Ethernet IEEE 802.3u and Gigabit Ethernet IEEE 802.3z standards, is CWDM wavelength ready and offers a single fiber BIDI interface option. It could be deployed either as CPE or in the central office. http://www.canoga.com
