Alcatel was awarded a multi-million EUR four year frame agreement by Belgacom to upgrade and expand its existing core and metro optical transport networks. Under the contract, Alcatel will supply its multi-service gateways and multi-service provisioning platform for delivering Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet services.
