Shandong Netcom Selects Alcatel's IP Router

Shandong Netcom, a subsidiary of China Netcom, selected Alcatel Shanghai Bell to supply IP routers for an e-government provincial backbone. Under the contract, Alcatel will provide Shandong Netcom with the carrier- class Alcatel 7750 Service Router for a network covering 17 cities in the province. Shandong Netcom also will deploy the Alcatel 5620 Service Router Manager. The new backbone network will enable the Shandong provincial government to integrate the existing networks of different government bureaus in different locations into consolidated VPNs.
