China United Telecommunications (China Unicom) has deployed ECI Telecom’s XDM MultiService Provisioning Platform (MSPP) within its Beijing network to build and extend the downtown and suburban rings in the access and consolidation layers. Further network development is expected to continue throughout 2004 and beyond. The XDM MSPP converges intelligent optical networking capabilities with advanced data functionality including ATM and Ethernet Layer 2 over SDH/SONET, CWDM and DWDM. Financial terms were not disclosed.
