Telesp, Telefónica’s Brazilian subsidiary, has selected the Siemens’ SURPASS platform for its next generation network. Siemens Information and Communication Networks (IC Networks) is installing a virtual trunking solution based on the Surpass hiQ Call Feature Server, the Surpass hiG IP Gateway and the Surpass hiR Media Server. The network will also use Juniper Networks’ E, M and T series routers. Installation is expected to be complete by December 2003. Financial terms were not disclosed.
