AFL announces its self-certification for products compliant with the Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act requirements, securing its position as a key supplier for broadband infrastructure projects funded by the Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program. The BEAD Program, managed by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), aims to expand high-speed internet access to underserved and rural communities in the U.S. By meeting BABA requirements, AFL’s products can be used in these federally funded projects, which mandate domestically sourced or manufactured components.
The company has verified that its compliant products meet Buy America Preference requirements, or at least comply with the BABA Waiver guidelines for the BEAD Program. AFL’s self-certification ensures its cables, connectivity, and other products are eligible for use in building out the U.S. broadband network. With a focus on domestic production, AFL is working to expand its range of certified products to meet the needs of broadband deployment nationwide.
Marc Bolick, President of Product Solutions, emphasized AFL’s dedication to supporting U.S. manufacturing: “Our self-certification with the NTIA marks a significant milestone. It reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant products that not only contribute to the growth of broadband infrastructure but also support strengthening the U.S. manufacturing and the economy.”
