Alcatel was awarded a contract valued at about EUR 450 million to provide its communications-based train control technology to Tube Lines, the company responsible for the upgrading and maintenance of segments of the London underground. The project involves a system to re-signal the Underground’s Jubilee and Northern Lines over the next seven and a half years.
