Alcatel has supplied a DSL and Wi-Fi network to Cogetel, the leading ISP in Cambodia. For this project, Alcatel has delivered public WLAN “hot spots” covering prime locations in Phnom Penh, the country’s capital. The hot-spots are connected through Cogetel’s DSL lines over a multiprotocol network provided by Alcatel.

ISDN served 1986–2018. What ultimately replaced it?
ISDN digitized the local loop into 64 kbit/s B-channels for voice/data plus a 16 kbit/s D-channel for signaling (BRI = 2B+D), giving all-digital dial-up and faster call setup over ordinary copper. Its job passed to DSL — but the problem it solved, and the ideas it proved, live on in what replaced it. The standard rests here in the archive.
