Alcatel to Build Pacific Satellite for SES Americom

Alcatel was selected to build and deliver, in orbit, a new high-powered hybrid C/Ku-band satellite, satellite for WORLDSAT, LLC, an SES GLOBAL company. The satellite’s Ku-band payload has been designed to meet the particular requirements of Connexion by Boeing, WORLDSAT’s key strategic customer. In addition, the C-band payload will be available to broadcasters, cable programmers, ISPs, government agencies and telecom carriers. Scheduled for launch by the end of 2005, WORLDSAT-3 will provide Connexion by Boeing with satellite capacity over a region stretching as far west as Singapore and Korea, above the Arctic Circle, south below New Zealand and as far east as the western coast of the U.S.
