Australia's Nextgen Networks Completes Blackspots Rollout

Nextgen Networks has completed its fibre rollout work under the Australian government’s $250 million Regional Backbone Blackspots Program. The new build is key toward bringing the National Broadband Network (NBN) to the Northern Territory.

  • In December 2009, the Australian government signed an agreement with Nextgen Networks to construct the new broadband backbone infrastructure under the $250 million Regional Backbone Blackspots Program. The investment represents the first building blocks of the National Broadband Network on mainland Australia.
