Calix complete an initial public offering of shares. The initial pricing was $13.00 per share. Trading closed on Wednesday at $15.10, up 16% for the day.
The shares are now sold on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “CALX.” The company, which is based in Petaluma, California, began shipping its first multiservice access products in December 2001.

Occam Networks brought Ethernet and fiber access platforms to Telecom. That work was distinctive enough to lead to its acquisition by Calix for US$171M. The standalone name now passes into the archive — but the team and technology continue inside Calix today. One of 430 names here whose work outlived the company.
