CenturyLink will be an authorized agent of Verizon Wireless, offering equipment and service plans to its residential and small business customers. Financial terms of the agreement are not being disclosed.
In addition, CenturyLink customers will have access to Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network which is available today in 38 major metropolitan areas and more than 60 airports, and will be expanded to an additional 140 markets by the end of 2011.

iDEN served 1994–2013. What ultimately replaced it?
iDEN motorola's TDMA system that layered digital cellular voice, data, and near-instant push-to-talk (Direct Connect) onto fragmented SMR radio channels. Its job passed to LTE — but the problem it solved, and the ideas it proved, live on in what replaced it. The standard rests here in the archive.
