Core-Backbone, a leading network provider based in Germany, has implemented Infinera’s GX Series ICE6 800G solution to enhance its network capacity across several key routes. The upgrade spans critical links between Nuremberg and Munich, Nuremberg and Prague, and Hamburg and Düsseldorf, doubling the network’s capacity while reducing power consumption per bit. This improvement allows Core-Backbone to provide more reliable and efficient connectivity services across Europe.

Founded in 2006, Core-Backbone operates a global backbone network connecting data centers in Europe, Asia, and North America. The network upgrade to Infinera’s GX Series enables Core-Backbone to deliver 800G per wavelength with the option to scale up to 1.2T, ensuring cost-effective, high-performance connectivity. The company’s network services include IP Transit, Layer2 Connections, and DDoS Protection, supporting diverse industries such as data centers, CDNs, and ISPs.

This deployment builds on Core-Backbone’s existing infrastructure, where it uses Infinera’s XTM platform.

• Core-Backbone deployed Infinera’s GX Series ICE6 800G on key routes in Germany.
