Firetide introduced an integrated wireless video surveillance solution for public safety and commercial security applications that will reduce the costs and complexities of large-scale video surveillance deployments. The solution incorporates a Firetide HotPort wireless mesh node, IP camera or analog video camera with IP encoder, and optional storage.
Firetide’s edge-of-network storage capability combined with an option for on-demand transmission, reduces the load on the network, enabling support for more cameras with the same infrastructure. It also provides distributed access to recorded video from mobile incident command centers and enables retrieval of video should a major incident disable a large portion of the network.
