Intel Invests in VMware for its Virtualization

Intel Capital will invest $218.5 million in VMware’s Class A common stock. VMware, which is a business unit of EMC, develops software for virtualization solutions, including a platform that virtualizes the Intel architecture. Intel microprocessors comprise the majority of the systems on which VMware’s virtualization products are deployed.

VMware is based in Palo Alto, California.
