Japan’s KDDI has surpassed one million subscribers for its DION ADSL service. KDDI is offering a number of ADSL options, including a 40 Mbps service, a low-cost 1 Mbps service and a plan that bundles IP phone services.

KDD Corporation brought Japan's specialist international telephone and data carrier to Telecom. That work was distinctive enough to lead to its merger with KDDI. The standalone name now passes into the archive — but the team and technology continue inside KDDI today. One of 430 names here whose work outlived the company.
