Jiangsu Telecom Selects Alcatel IP Service Routers

Jiangsu Telecom, a subsidiary of China Telecom, selected the Alcatel 7750 Service Router (SR) to build an IP backbone network in the province. The 7750 SR will also be deployed as a service-aware edge solution for building an IP metro network in Zhengjiang and Taizhou, two major cities in Jiangsu Province. The contract was won through Alcatel Shanghai Bell, Alcatel’s flagship Chinese company. Financial terms were not disclosed. http://www.alcatel.com

  • In January 2004, Shandong Netcom, a subsidiary of China Netcom, selected Alcatel Shanghai Bell to supply IP routers for an e-government provincial backbone. Under the contract, Alcatel will provide Shandong Netcom with the carrier- class Alcatel 7750 Service Router for a network covering 17 cities in the province.
