Magyar Telekom Picks Ericsson for RAN Upgrade

Hungarian operator Magyar Telekom, of the Deutsche Telekom Group, has chosen Ericsson to undertake a complete overhaul of its radio access network. This includes deployment of Ericsson’s multi-standard RBS 6000 radio access network equipment, which will also be ready for 4G/LTE functionality once licenses have been allocated. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Ericsson noted that this year marks 100 years for the company in Hungary. Also, Ericsson has the largest R&D operation in the country. http://www.ericsson.com
