BIGLOBE, NEC’s wholly-owned flagship Internet service provider, has deployed the Force10 Networks’ E-Series 10 Gigabit Ethernet platform. The equipment is being used to accommodate a flood of peer-to-peer traffic that has overwhelmed its current network. The companies described the deployment as an upgrade for BIGLOBE’s current 10 Gigabit Ethernet network. The Force10 E1200 scales up to twenty-eight 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 336 Gigabit Ethernet ports. Financial terms were not disclosed. http://www.force10networks.com.
