NTT and Motorola announced Multicast MPLS routing software for streaming media applications through a service provider network. NTT plans to demonstrate its Multicast MPLS capability at the upcoming “MPLS2003” event later this month in Washington D.C.

Frame Relay served 1990–2010. What ultimately replaced it?
Frame Relay switched variable-length frames over pre-provisioned permanent virtual circuits, dropping X.25's per-hop error correction (links were now clean) and pushing recovery to the endpoints for far higher throughput.
