How is OIF advancing multi-vendor interoperability in data center connectivity?

Karl Gass, Physical and Link Layer Working Group Optical Vice Chair from OIF explains:

– Demonstrates interoperable 100G, 400G, and 800G Ethernet connectivity across three data centers using multiple vendor line systems and fiber
– Showcases new interoperable probabilistic constellation shaping (PCS) for 800G open ROADM applications, enabling longer reach capabilities
– Features 15 different module vendors across multiple form factors (QSFP28, QSFP-DD, OSFP) with orchestration tools for network monitoring

Multi-span connections include OpenZR+, 100ZR and 800G OpenROADM (PCS) over multiple networks, including booth-to-booth collaborations with the Ethernet Alliance and OpenROADM MSA.
