Proximion Fiber Systems introduced a new, small form factor, single channel dispersion compensation module (DCM-SC). The company said its new module extends single channel SDH/SONET/GE system reach otherwise limited by the dispersion tolerance of the transceivers. The low loss of the DCM-SC enables a system solution without amplifiers in a cost effective way. Proximion also offers the option of different customized wavelengths, suitable for other applications and network solutions.
DCM-SC is currently available on volume basis.
