A A

Ribbon Communications introduced its new AI-powered platform, Acumen™, aimed at advancing autonomous networking for service providers and enterprises. Launched today, Acumen combines AIOps, automation, and low-code/no-code tools to streamline network management, lower operational costs, and improve service reliability. The platform integrates with both Ribbon and third-party components, giving operators end-to-end observability and AI-driven insights across the full network lifecycle.

The Acumen platform includes pre-built apps for troubleshooting, KPI dashboards, and data enrichment, as well as Acumen Builder—a low-code/no-code environment to create custom AI-enabled workflows. It features an AI services layer that allows flexible integration of models and data sources, supporting predictive, self-healing network operations. Early adopter Optimum is already deploying Acumen, citing the platform’s potential to establish “a new standard of predictive, AI-driven innovation.”

Industry analysts note that Acumen leverages Ribbon’s decades of experience across all network layers, backed by its established cloud-native software and analytics expertise. Ribbon positions Acumen as a critical step toward fully autonomous networks, offering operators a unified view of performance, proactive automation, and resilience-enhancing capabilities.

• Acumen delivers AI-powered observability, automation, and lifecycle management

• Includes ready-to-use apps and a low-code/no-code workflow builder

• Supports Ribbon and third-party components for unified performance monitoring

• Enables predictive, self-healing network functions to reduce costs and improve service reliability

• Early adopter Optimum highlights Acumen’s role in driving AI-based operational innovation

“Acumen empowers operators with end-to-end observability, AI-driven insights, and customizable automation throughout the network lifecycle,” said Sam Bucci, COO and EVP at Ribbon.

🌐 Analysis: Ribbon’s move reflects the accelerating push among telecom and enterprise network vendors to embed AIOps into operational workflows, a trend also seen in Cisco’s AI-Networking initiatives and Juniper’s Paragon automation suite. By combining cloud-native architecture, analytics, and customizable workflows, Ribbon is aiming to remain competitive in the emerging autonomous networking market, particularly as operators seek efficiency gains in AI-era infrastructure.
