Spirent Communications is collaborating with Siemens Digital Industries Software to deliver a pre-silicon verification solution for Ethernet chipset design. The integration combines Spirent TestCenter Virtual with Siemens’ Virtual Ethernet test software for Veloce™ hardware-assisted verification, aiming to streamline the silicon development lifecycle. This joint solution brings real-world Ethernet traffic generation and analysis to pre-silicon stages, accelerating development for applications such as AI networking in data centers and service provider edge networks.
The integration leverages Veloce’s high-performance emulation platform and Spirent’s testing capabilities to deliver deterministic system-level verification before silicon production. It supports speeds ranging from 1G to 800G and port counts up to 1024, enabling advanced traffic analysis and dynamic traffic pattern testing. By addressing potential issues earlier in the design cycle, the solution reduces development time and costs while improving design efficiency and reliability.
“This collaboration bridges the gap between pre- and post-silicon validation, offering an end-to-end solution that simplifies Ethernet chipset design,” said Aniket Khosla, Spirent’s Vice President of Wireline Product Management. “With Siemens’ leadership in hardware-assisted verification, we’re providing tools that allow customers to meet critical performance standards and bring products to market faster.”
• Accelerated Development: Enables early-stage testing, expediting the silicon design and verification process.
• High Scalability: Supports up to 800G Ethernet speeds and 1024 ports for diverse use cases.
• Cost Efficiency: Reduces the need for hardware upgrades and complex post-silicon testing environments.
• Enhanced Flexibility: Adapts quickly to new features and traffic patterns for emerging applications.
The Spirent and Siemens solution is now available for mutual Ethernet networking customers.
