Tellabs and Nokia Networks have integrated the Tellabs 8100 network manager into Nokia’s NetAct radio access network management system to add ATM management to the existing PDH and SDH capabilities. The unified network manager will enable faster 3G service provisioning over the ATM transport layer. The companies said that since many carriers are still relying on traditional TDM for voice traffic, their migration routes through 3G will require ATM support.
