Turkcell Taps A10 Networks to Advance Virtualized Architecture

A A

Turkcell is deepening its partnership with A10 Networks to accelerate the virtualization of its core network infrastructure, emphasizing software-defined security, agility, and operational efficiency. The collaboration builds on a long-standing relationship that has powered Turkcell’s carrier-grade NAT (CGNAT) deployment with integrated firewall and DDoS mitigation. With the adoption of A10 Thunder® software solutions, Turkcell is transitioning toward fully virtualized CGNAT services while enhancing IPv6 adoption, 5G readiness, and IoT integration.

To address the growing demand from its subscriber base and the global IPv4 address shortage, Turkcell continues to rely on A10’s scale-out architecture and real-time telemetry. These capabilities ensure seamless scaling, service continuity, and improved operational visibility. The virtualization effort also reduces energy consumption, maintenance complexity, and operational expenditure by minimizing reliance on physical appliances.

The move aligns with Turkcell’s broader sustainability and digital transformation goals. According to CTO Prof. Dr. Vehbi Çağrı Güngör, the effort has resulted in one of the world’s highest network virtualization rates. A10 Networks CEO Dhrupad Trivedi added that the collaboration “helps enhance performance, reduce costs, and improve security, allowing Turkcell to meet its business objectives and positioning it as a leader in digital transformation.”

  • Turkcell expands virtualization of CGNAT services with A10 Thunder® software
  • Transition includes Gi-firewall and integrated DDoS protection
  • Virtualized infrastructure scales IPv4 while accelerating IPv6 adoption
  • Real-time telemetry and operator-centric UI improve visibility and reduce OPEX
  • Virtualization cuts energy usage, hardware footprint, and maintenance costs
