LandBridge Company has signed a lease development agreement with PowerBridge to support a proposed 2 GW powered data center campus in Reeves County, Texas, marking another large-scale infrastructure project tied to AI and hyperscale demand. The agreement provides PowerBridge the option to lease up to 3,400 acres near the Waha natural gas hub, positioning the site for co-located power generation and digital infrastructure under the “Alpha Digital Campus” initiative.
The project centers on vertically integrated energy and data center design, with PowerBridge advancing on-site generation, private-use network infrastructure, and regional fiber connectivity. The company has already submitted its Generation Interconnection Request (GINR), detailed anticipated data center load, and ordered long-lead electrical infrastructure. Initial power delivery is targeted for 2027, with full-scale generation capacity expected in 2028, pending regulatory approvals.
PowerBridge is led by CEO Alex Hernandez, former CEO of Talen Energy and founder of Cumulus Data, which developed one of the first U.S. multi-gigawatt campuses co-located with power generation. LandBridge, backed by Five Point Infrastructure, brings over 320,000 acres across the Permian Basin, enabling large contiguous deployments with access to natural gas, water resources, and favorable permitting conditions—key constraints in scaling AI infrastructure.
