NETSCOUT announced plans to double the mitigation capacity of its Arbor Cloud DDoS protection platform to 33 Tbps, expanding its global cloud-based defenses against increasingly sophisticated, AI-assisted distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. The upgrade, expected to be completed by the end of August 2026, expands the company’s global mitigation infrastructure across 16 scrubbing centers and follows NETSCOUT’s recent acquisition of additional DDoS network and infrastructure assets.
The expanded platform targets the growing frequency of large, multi-vector attacks against enterprises, service providers, and public-sector organizations. NETSCOUT said Arbor Cloud combines cloud-based traffic scrubbing with its on-premises DDoS protection through automated cloud signaling, enabling attacks to be mitigated close to their source while shifting large volumetric traffic to the cloud. Unlike services that primarily increase available bandwidth, NETSCOUT said Arbor Cloud integrates mitigation with global threat intelligence derived from the company’s deep visibility into Internet traffic and attack activity. The additional capacity is intended to improve protection against simultaneous attacks, carpet-bombing campaigns, and rapidly evolving attack vectors generated by large botnets.
