The Southern Cross NEXT system, delivering 72 Tbps of capacity across Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, is now operational. Spanning six countries and eight time zones, the Southern Cross network connects 12 cable stations and eight key datacenter hubs in these regions, utilizing over 45,000 km (28,000 miles) of cable—exceeding the Earth’s circumference.

Alcatel Submarine Networks designed, manufactured, and installed the submarine cable, repeaters, and branching units. Pioneer Consulting managed critical project aspects, including market analysis, business case development, procurement, contracting, project execution, quality assurance, and shipboard oversight, ensuring the successful activation of the subsea system across all cable stations.
