CopperGate Communications, which provides silicon for home networking over existing wiring, announced that Rami Verbin has joined the company as its Chief Technical Officer. He joins CopperGate from Tracespan Communications, a leading manufacturer of broadband monitoring solutions, where he served as VP responsible for all R&D activity in the company. Prior to that, Verbin held various research, development, program management and strategic marketing positions at Orckit Communications, Tioga Technologies, a pioneer in DSL IC development acquired by STMicroelectronics in 2002, and later with STMicroelectronics’ broadband access and set-top box divisions.
