#Private5G: New Applications for Private Wireless

A A

The business case for Private 5G is going to require new approaches. Phil Mottram, EVP and GM from HPE Aruba Networking, discusses some interesting applications that could really shake things up:

– The growing momentum in private wireless networks, driven by sectors that previously couldn’t modernize their technology. These private networks, in some instances, provide better coverage than Wi-Fi.
– HPE Aruba Networking’s recent acquisition of Athonet, a leading specialist in private networks, and the demand they’re seeing from military customers, ports, warehouses, factories, and mines – industry segments that previously couldn’t take advantage of networking technology.
– The importance of the edge in networking technology, with real-life applications such as security monitoring. For example, setting up a network at the edge of a school to scan individuals approaching the school for security purposes.
