ADC Offers a DSL-powered WiFi Solution for Carrier Deployments

ADC introduced a new LoopStar DSL span-powered Wi-Fi solution for carriers. that provide a low-cost and easy-to-deploy approach in building a network of Wi-Fi hot spots. ADC’s current Wi-Fi solutions support two technology applications: one utilizing any customer DSLAM and the other ADC’s PG-FlexPlus line shelf with G.SHDSL access technology. In the first application, the customer’s existing DSLAM capacity is leveraged to apply span powering over the G.SHDSL transport to the Wi-Fi Access Point. In the second application, the PG-FlexPlus line shelf is deployed in a central office (CO) or outside plant cabinet to provide span powering over the G.SHDSL transport to the Wi-Fi Access Point. Both indoor and outdoor access point packaging are available.
