Blue Planet, a division of Ciena (NYSE: CIEN), advanced its Agentic AI strategy this week at Digital Transformation World 2025 (DTW25) in Copenhagen, positioning its cloud-native OSS platform as a key enabler of AI-driven network automation. The company unveiled its open Agentic AI Framework, designed to power intelligent agents that act with intent, context, and coordination—shifting CSPs away from manual processes toward more autonomous networks.

Blue Planet’s framework integrates AI Studio tools with its portfolio for Inventory, Orchestration, and Assurance, enabling CSPs to build and scale AI agents natively within their OSS environments. Demonstrations at DTW highlighted applications such as dynamic 5G network slicing automation, AI-powered service assurance, and network digital twins. A joint demo with AWS illustrated how the solution can automate 5G slice lifecycle management and reduce deployment time from weeks to hours.
