Broadcom Announces 10 Gigabit Optical Transceiver

Broadcom introduced its low power, multi-rate serial 10 Gigabit transceiver for SONET/SDH, 10 Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel networks. The new MSA-compliant device, which represents Broadcom’s third generation single-chip, multi-rate transceiver, supports both Very Short Reach (VSR) and Long Reach (LR) optical link applications. The Broadcom BCM8152 multi-rate Gigabit transceiver is targeted for both module and line card applications. http://www.broadcom.com
