DeepSig Showcases AI-Native Open RAN and Spectrum Intelligence Integrations

DeepSig will demonstrate AI-native Open RAN and spectrum awareness integrations at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, highlighting ecosystem deployments across infrastructure and portable monitoring platforms. The Arlington, Virginia-based company is collaborating with NVIDIA, SRS, and the AI-RAN Alliance to present AI-RAN solutions built on its OmniPHY-5G® and OmniPHY® Axon platforms, including a pre-6G fully learned waveform operating on top of a 3GPP Release 17 GPU-accelerated OCUDU stack.

The Open RAN demonstration runs on NVIDIA’s DGX Spark platform and features a scalable, carrier-grade base station supporting both commercial 5G and emerging 6G mobile devices. DeepSig integrates a neural receiver-based physical layer and AI-native air interface into a GPU-accelerated RAN architecture designed to enable multi-radio spectrum sharing (MRSS) across 5G and 6G. The company positions the architecture to support seamless coexistence between current 5G deployments and next-generation 6G evolution, while leveraging its Axon modem design used in advanced backhaul and autonomous systems.

In a separate integration, DeepSig has partnered with PCTEL to embed its OmniSIG® spectrum awareness software into the SeeHawk® Scout tactical signal intelligence platform. The portable system integrates AI-driven sensing and signal decoding into a heterodyne receiver capable of monitoring FR1 and FR2 cellular and non-cellular spectrum bands. The platform can detect and classify signals, identify interference sources, locate base stations, and provide actionable intelligence to network operators, regulators, public safety agencies, defense users, and aviation stakeholders.

The demonstrations at MWC26 include:

  • Neural receiver-based physical layer processing within Open RAN environments
  • Pre-6G fully learned waveform integrated with 3GPP Rel 17 GPU-accelerated stacks
  • Real-time spectrum sensing and signal classification across FR1 and FR2 bands
  • Interference detection and localization capabilities
  • Integration across commercial, public safety, defense, and non-terrestrial spectrum use cases

“Our focus is on embedding intelligence directly into wireless systems,” said Jim Shea, CEO of DeepSig. “Whether operating inside open CU/DU architectures or within portable spectrum intelligence platforms, AI-native processing enables faster signal understanding, improved interference detection, and more adaptive network performance. These collaborations reflect how ecosystem partners are integrating AI directly into real-world wireless deployments.”

🌐 Analysis: DeepSig’s demonstrations align with a broader industry push toward AI-native RAN architectures, where GPU acceleration and neural physical layers complement traditional DSP-based designs. Major vendors and alliances, including the AI-RAN Alliance and hyperscaler-backed Open RAN initiatives, are exploring similar GPU-based CU/DU stacks as operators evaluate 6G coexistence with 5G infrastructure.

The integration with PCTEL highlights another emerging vector: AI-driven spectrum intelligence as spectrum sharing intensifies across terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks. As regulators and operators prepare for dynamic spectrum access models and expanded FR2 deployments, embedded AI sensing platforms could become foundational to both commercial 6G rollouts and mission-critical communications.
